My Low-Maintenance Introvert Side Income

Introverts already deal with a lot in terms of energy drain. Energy drain comes from being at work, family, friends, and being out in the general public.

It is completely understandable to want a side income that doesn’t drain you even more. That’s what I was in search of and I decided on selling simple digital information products in the form of PDF files.

What’s great about this particular side income?

You don’t have to talk to anyone and you don’t have to leave your home.

It’s 100% online and you’re in full control.

What Kind of Information to Sell?

You may be surprised as to what types of info products sell. Many are not groundbreaking but most help solve a problem or save time, hassle, and headaches.

I’ve come across (and sometimes purchase) info products related to:

  • Creating more income
  • Health & wellness
  • Relationships
  • Productivity hacks
  • Pets
  • Writing

And so many more.

An info product can be as simple as teaching someone how to meditate in 10 minutes or how to declutter a home in 30 days.

Almost everyone has something they know that can help someone else.

You don’t have to be an expert at whatever you’re helping people with–you just need to be one or two steps ahead of where they are.

For example, there is a popular YouTube channel of a woman who lives full-time on cruise ships.

She does this because she loves to travel and she also does it on a fixed budget of $2,000 a month.

Most people spend more on rent for that amount so imagine how cool it is to live on different cruise ships and seeing the world at the same time?

Her channel blew up and it’s no wonder. There are a lot of people out there looking for the information that she’s sharing.

Could she put that same info into a PDF file? Absolutely.

Her audience would snap it up.

Can’t People Just Google the Same Info?

Sure and lots of people do that.

However, what if you could have all of the info you need in one place written by someone who has the exact experience and knowledge you’re seeking?

I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather pay for the information that will help me than spend hours Googling my way to the answer.

Sometimes I need help with a specific thing.

Like my own online business. I needed help with how to improve my marketing so I bought an info product from someone who is already doing what I’m trying to do.

It was absolutely worth it as I was able to quickly implement their advice.

It saved me a lot of time and helped me to avoid costly mistakes.

What makes the big difference between your info product and searching for the same info online is YOU.

Your voice, your teaching style, and your personal experience.

How I Create My PDF Files

Creating your actual info product is extremely simple. You can even do so for free.

I create my info products using Google docs and export them as PDF files.

I’ll add images as needed but for the most part, my files are basic.

You can also create your PDF files using a platform like Canva and glam it up with images.

Ugly, boring-looking PDF files work fine.

I’ve bought many an “ugly” PDF file because it is the information that is more important than anything else.

You can make your PDFs look as fancy or as boring as you like.

The information you share is of the most value.

Get Your Product Up for Sale for Free

Are you noticing a trend so far with selling PDFs?

If not, the trend I’m talking about is that you can get started creating and selling your info product for free.

First, you create using Google docs (free) and you can sell your PDF on a platform like Payhip using their free forever plan.

They take a small percentage of every sale that you make.

So, imagine having your very own digital product that you created using free software and selling it with zero monthly fees.

What other online business can you think of where that is possible?

How I Made My First Sales

Let’s talk about the fun part–making sales!

You’ll always remember the first sale that you make and your first sale will build your confidence.

I know I had a lot of self-doubt with my first digital product that included thoughts like these:

  • No one will care about the info I share
  • Who’s going to buy my product?
  • People will hate it

All lies that I was telling myself. I’ve sold many copies of my first product with zero refund requests.

Making my first sale had to do with marketing. There are two ways to get traffic to your product: organic or paid.

Organic traffic consists of things like blogging, posting on social media, or creating a YouTube channel

Paid traffic can be Meta ads, Google ads, TikTok ads, etc.

I do a combination of both.

I have a blog (what you’re reading right now) and I post on Instagram.

My paid strategy is running ads on Instagram.

Organic traffic is slower and takes time to grow whereas paid ads get you visitors much faster.

You do not have to run paid ads to make sales but it can speed up the process.

The nice thing about both strategies is that you don’t have to talk to anyone and both are low-maintenance.

Introvert-friendly business for the win!

What to Do Next

Has this introvert side income option have you interested in how to get started?

It’s quite simple and I have a guide that can help you along the way.

The guide can help answer any questions you may have and get you started on taking action with creating your own digital information product.

I truly believe this is one of the most introvert-friendly online business around.

I’ve tried a few different methods and selling PDFs is one of the best online businesses I’ve done as an introvert.
